After over two decade of nursing in the NHS, I kept asking myself the same question: How do we stop these falls before they ever happen?
For the past 12 years, I have worked as a Specialist Rehabilitation Nurse, alongside my experience in hospital wards and district nursing. Day after day, I see first-hand the devastating impact a fall can have on an older adult's independence, confidence, and health.
I know that so many of these admissions are preventable with early intervention, practical education, and proper support. That is why I founded Steady Steps Community CIC. We are taking Specialist nurse-led rehabilitation fall prevention and mobility support for the elderly directly into churches, community centres, and housing schemes.
If you manage a community space or housing scheme in Lewisham and London South East, or have a loved one who could benefit, please drop me a message.
